Access to the Big Wild...
Classique Défi
1 August, 2009 - 3 August, 2009

For our Big Wild Challenge, we have tried to promote the protection of wild spaces with increasing access for persons with disabilities.

Our trip includes seven volunteers who will be assisting our friend, Greg, on his first multi-night wilderness excursion. Greg is quadrapeligic, and will be making the 30 km round trip trek in a Trail-Rider, a specially designed wheelchair which is constructed to withstand the challenges of backcountry travel.

We will be hiking in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, travelling from Upper Kananaskis Lake to Turbine Canyon, gaining aproximately 500 metres in elevation along the way. Our group will rely on the strength of the team to carry Greg and the Trail-Rider over a variety of terrain, but the scenery is spectacular!

Please consider supporting our challenge! We will keep you updated!

Best,

Greg, Tim, Laura, Mel, Troy, Kerri, Colin, and Rob
