Due to the intense battle brewing for top fundraising spot in the last days of our summer challenge season, we decided to push all deadlines until Oct 15th. Therefore, all prize deadlines and MEC's deadline to match funds has been bumped to Oct 15th. (NB: MEC will match funds raised by MEC members through The Big Wild Challenge before Oct 15th, dollar for dollar, to a maximum of $250,000.) So go Challengers go!

PRIZES FOR FUNDRAISERS

DRAW (One Hundred)
If your Big Wild Challenge raises $100, you get entered into a draw to win a $250 MEC gift card. If you did your challenge with a group, we will give up to $750 in MEC gift cards to share with your team. And we will do this three times ' so three separate challenge teams will win.

MOST MONEY(Sir Raise-a-lot)
If your Big Wild Challenge raises the most money, you win a $500 MEC gift card. If you did it with a group, your team will get up to $1,500.

MOST DONORS (hold the tzatziki)
If your Big Wild Challenge has the highest number of individual donors, you win a $500 MEC gift card. If you did it with a team, we will give your team up to $1,500

PRIZES FOR SPIRIT

The Big Wild is giving away three prizes for spirit (aka how-much-we-like-your-web-content award). The category is called The Big Wild Challenge of the Year and there will be one winner from each challenge category (Epic, Adventure, and Family). The winner in each challenge category 'Epic', 'Adventure' & 'Family' will be judged by their web content (stories, images, and videos) against the following criteria:

* Is the trip ambitious and inspiring?
* Does your content evoke a cultural connection to the wilderness?
* Is the content creative and unique?
* Your approach to your trip shows awareness and respect for the environment?

EPIC PRIZE (Banff-o-rama)
The Big Wild Challenge Epic of the Year will be awarded at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and featured in the MEC catalogue. The winner of the Epic Challenge will receive tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival, including accommodations and travel vouchers to help you get there (subject to some limitations). In addition, the winner (individuals or teams) will receive a $250 MEC gift card per trip member (max of $1,000 gift card value per team).

FAMILY PRIZE (Separate Tents!)
The Big Wild Challenge Family Affair of the Year will receive a family gear pack (including a tent, stove and up to 4 sleeping bags) and an MEC $500 gift card.

ADVENTURE (Loot Bag-o-fun)
The Big Wild Adventure Challenge will receive a package of gear related to the activity pursued through their challenge ' climbing gear, paddling gear, camping gear etc, plus a MEC $250 gift card per trip member (max of $1,000 gift card value per team).

RUNNER-UP (2nd Place Winners)
The runner-up (individuals or teams) in each category will receive a MEC $150 gift card per trip member (max of $750 gift card value per team).
