Unfortunately, this challenge was un-doable due to bad weather. The bentonitic soil in the badlands is extremely slippery when wet.
The Lakeland Outdoor Rec Club will be going hiking in Elk Island National Park on Saturday, November 7. Just a fun day hike that will last the afternoon.
